Julia Brockway was born in August 21 1826 in Illinois. She married Harrison Brockway in 1858 in Shullsburg. Mr. Brockway was always engaged in mining and farming and he came to Lafayette Co. in 1842. He later went to California in search of gold and returned to Shullsburg in 1856. He passed away in 1868 leaving his wife 110 acres of land. She and Harrison had 3 children: Joseph, Beauregard, and George A.
